Dubai’s Roads and Transport Authority (RTA) has officially announced the commencement of construction on the Dubai Metro Blue Line, a project valued at Dhs20.5 billion.

The latest station designs, unveiled by His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Vice President and Prime Minister of the UAE and Ruler of Dubai, indicate a striking departure from previous metro architecture.

On Monday, June 9, 2025, His Highness approved the distinctive design of the Emaar Properties Station, one of the key stations on the new Blue Line.

Set to become the tallest metro station in the world, the Emaar Properties Station will reach a height of 74 metres, span 38 metres in width, and cover around 11,000 square metres in total area.

Recently released visuals reveal that this station, described as an "architectural icon," will serve as the starting point of the Blue Line.

Slated for completion by 2029, the Dubai Metro Blue Line will connect with the existing Red and Green Lines, further enhancing the city’s public transportation network.
